Alex Jones is so sorry about Pizzagate

Published on Mar 27, 2017(Yesterday)

Alex Jones is suddenly super sorry about that whole Pizzagate thing. What gives? Cenk Uygur, host of The Young Turks, breaks it down. Tell us what you think in the comment section below. http://tytnetwork.com/go

“Alex Jones, a prominent conspiracy theorist and the host of a popular right-wing radio show, has apologized for helping to spread and promote the hoax known as Pizzagate.

The admission on Friday by Mr. Jones, the host of “The Alex Jones Show” and the operator of the website Infowars, was striking. In addition to promoting the Pizzagate conspiracy theory, he has contended that the Sept. 11 attacks were inside jobs carried out by the United States government and that the 2012 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., was a hoax concocted by those hostile to the Second Amendment.

The Pizzagate theory, which posited with no evidence that top Democratic officials were involved with a satanic child pornography ring centered around Comet Ping Pong, a pizza restaurant in Washington, D.C., grew in online forums before making its way to more visible venues, including Mr. Jones’s show. And its prominence after the election drew attention to the proliferation of false and misleading news, much of it politically charged, that circulated on platforms like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

Mr. Jones made the apology to the owner of Comet Ping Pong, James Alefantis, on video, reading from a carefully worded statement that emphasized how widely the theory had spread before he weighed in on it. He said that Infowars had “disassociated” itself from the story in December and had taken down the majority of broadcasts and videos that mentioned it. Mr. Jones also said that two reporters the show had worked with “are no longer with us,” although he did not identify them or discuss the exact nature of their work with Infowars.”*

Trump Uses Navy Seal’s Widow As Political Prop

Look to see much more of this in the coming years. Cenk Uygur and John Iadarola, hosts of The Young Turks, discuss. Tell us what you think in the comment section below. http://tytnetwork.com/go

“The lasting image from President Donald Trump’s first speech to Congress was that of widow Carryn Owens, crying as Trump honored her late husband, Navy SEAL William “Ryan” Owens, with an extended standing ovation.

Trump cast as a success the U.S. military raid of an al-Qaida affiliate complex in Yemen, despite Owens’ death.

“Ryan died as he lived, a warrior and a hero, battling against terrorism and securing our nation,” Trump said on Feb. 28. “I just spoke to our great General Mattis just now who reconfirmed that, and I quote, ‘Ryan was a part of a highly successful raid that generated large amounts of vital intelligence that will lead to many more victories in the future against our enemy.’ Ryan’s legacy is etched into eternity.”

The raid, which took place in central Yemen on Jan. 29, was Trump’s first counterterrorism operation after taking office. Administration and Defense Department officials have praised the operation for gathering intelligence from documents and electronic devices in the house, and for killing at least a dozen combatants including Abdulrauf al Dhahab, a leader of al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula.

But the event and its aftermath have been more controversial than Trump’s description let on.

Some lawmakers, pundits and news reports have criticized the raid — saidto be an intelligence-gathering operation — because it turned into a lengthy firefight that killed Owens and potentially dozens of civilians, wounded three American soldiers, and destroyed a $70 million helicopter. They have also questioned the quality of the intelligence gathered.

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., called the operation “a failure” because the terrorists were allegedly tipped off in advance.”*

My comments on a video about Donald Trump and Ivanka

A policial hate site on YouTube called “Trump Truth Watch” made a very sick YouTube video about President Trump and his daughter Ivanka.
You all know I am NOT a President Trump supporter but that video caused me to create and post this video.

President Trump is Mentally Ill

Andrew Sullivan Questions Trump’s Mental Stability: He Refuses to ‘Recognize Reality’

Andrew Sullivan appeared on CNN’s Reliable Sources this morning to discuss his recent piece on President Trump‘s lies and mental stability. Here’s part of what he had to say:

Then there is the obvious question of the president’s mental and psychological health. I know we’re not supposed to bring this up — but it is staring us brutally in the face. I keep asking myself this simple question: If you came across someone in your everyday life who repeatedly said fantastically and demonstrably untrue things, what would you think of him? If you showed up at a neighbor’s, say, and your host showed you his newly painted living room, which was a deep blue, and then insisted repeatedly — manically — that it was a lovely shade of scarlet, what would your reaction be? If he then dragged out a member of his family and insisted she repeat this obvious untruth in front of you, how would you respond? If the next time you dropped by, he was still raving about his gorgeous new red walls, what would you think? Here’s what I’d think: This man is off his rocker. He’s deranged; he’s bizarrely living in an alternative universe; he’s delusional. If he kept this up, at some point you’d excuse yourself and edge slowly out of the room and the house and never return. You’d warn your other neighbors. You’d keep your distance. If you saw him, you’d be polite but keep your distance.

Sullivan told Brian Stelter today that whereas most politicians who tell falsehoods may have a general “deference to reality,” Trump “simplly insists that black is white.”

And on the question of mental stability, Sullivan thinks that while this may be a taboo subject, it’s important to start talking about how the president keeps making “bonkers” statements.

He said he doesn’t “want to believe the President of the United States is just delusional or can’t accept reality,” but it’s harder for him to ignore.

Stelter brought up the criticism from the conservative media that there’s anti-Trump “hysteria” going around, leading to claims such as these. Sullivan responded by saying the real hysteria isn’t coming from him, but from the Oval Office.
