Fell in the street

About 0800 hours I took Dar’s mail to the mailbox.  It is about two blocks away.  I put the mail in the box. Then I went to the curb and stepped off the curb.  It was more of a step than I was expecting and fell into the street.  I was on all fours.
Traffic was stopped at a red light. Thank God for that.
I got back on my feet and got back on the sidewalk.

I fell into the street. It sucks getting old.

I did some damage to my legs and my pants.

On May 17th I will have Mohs surgery

I saw a doctor the other day about my skin cancer.  He told me about it and the options and asked what treatment I wanted.  I like the doctor a great deal.  I am glad my doctor recommend him.
May 17 (2017) I will go in and have the basal cell carcinoma removed.

I am going to have what is called “Mohs Surgery.”

Mohs surgery, developed in 1938 by a general surgeon, Frederic E. Mohs, is microscopically controlled surgery used to treat common types of skin cancer. During the surgery, after each removal of tissue and while the patient waits, the tissue is examined for cancer cells. That examination informs the decision for additional tissue removal. Mohs surgery is one of the many methods of obtaining complete margin control during removal of a skin cancer (CCPDMA – complete circumferential peripheral and deep margin assessment[1][2][3][4]) using frozen sectionhistology.[5][6]CCPDMA or Mohs surgery allows for the removal of a skin cancer with very narrow surgical margin and a high cure rate.

I do not plan to blog about the surgery as it happens or even take photos or video.
I suspect you will see me with a hat on from now on.

Seborrheic Keratosis and Basal Cell Carcinoma

I got the lab work on my biopsy.  I had a Seborrheic Keratosis removed from left shoulder.  It was large.  The biopsy was not cancer.

Seborrheic keratosis (seb-o-REE-ik ker-uh-TOE-sis) is one of the most common noncancerous skin growths in older adults.

A seborrheic keratosis usually appears as a brown, black or light tan growth on the face, chest, shoulders or back. The growth has a waxy, scaly, slightly elevated appearance. Seborrheic keratoses don’t become cancerous and aren’t thought to be related to sun exposure, but they can look like skin cancer.

Seborrheic keratoses are normally painless and require no treatment. You may decide to have them removed if they become irritated by clothing or for cosmetic reasons.    Mayo Clinic

I also had a lesion on top of my head.  A biopsy of it came back as “Basal Cell Carcinoma.”

Basal cell carcinoma is a type of skin cancer. Basal cell carcinoma begins in the basal cells — a type of cell within the skin that produces new skin cells as old ones die off.

Basal cell carcinoma often appears as a slightly transparent bump on the skin, though it can take other forms. Basal cell carcinoma occurs most often on areas of the skin that are exposed to the sun, such as your head and neck.

Most basal cell carcinomas are thought to be caused by long-term exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from sunlight. Avoiding the sun and using sunscreen may help protect against basal cell carcinoma.     Mayo Clinic

My doctor is arranging for me to see a surgeon (Dermatologist).

Diagnosis C44.91 – Basal Cell Carcinoma of Skin

I just heard from my doctor’s office.  The lab results are back and the place on top of my head is a Basal cell carcinoma.  They are going to get me an appointment with a Dermatology doctor in Fort Worth.

Skin Cancer

Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States. The two most common types are basal cell cancer and squamous cell cancer. They usually form on the head, face, neck, hands, and arms. Another type of skin cancer, melanoma, is more dangerous but less common.

Anyone can get skin cancer, but it is more common in people who

  • Spend a lot of time in the sun or have been sunburned
  • Have light-colored skin, hair, and eyes
  • Have a family member with skin cancer
  • Are over age 50

You should have your doctor check any suspicious skin markings and any changes in the way your skin looks. Treatment is more likely to work well when cancer is found early. If not treated, some types of skin cancer cells can spread to other tissues and organs. Treatments include surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, photodynamic therapy (PDT), and biologic therapy. PDT uses a drug and a type of laser light to kill cancer cells. Biologic therapy boosts your body’s own ability to fight cancer.   ICD-List Diagnosis Code

I just wait now for the doctor’s office to inform me of my appointment date.  I was told that it might be five or six weeks before my appointment.

At last I got a few hours of sleep

At last, I got a few hours of sleep.  The cold has prevented me from getting any sleep for the last few days.  I just got a few hours of sleep and it is 6 AM.  Now that I am up .. I think I might be a little better.
My nose has been running non-stop for days.  Plus I had other problems.
I attempted other say of sleeping ..none of them worked.
I been up for a few minutes and hope I am on the road to normal.

There are no OTC medications that someone with my medical conditions should take.  Hilary did searching on the web and could not find anything for me to take.
I could not stand it any longer and asked her to go and get me Contact.  She came home with Contac and Coricidin.

How long does it take to get a cold from someone?

On March 1st I went to my doctor to have a biopsy done on a place on top of my head.  I also had him remove a large thing on top of my shoulder.  I will get the report on the biopsy in 4 or 5 days.  The doctor said he is 95% sure it will come back as cancer.

The doctor had symptoms of a cold.  I asked if had a cold.  He said no.
Today I have a cold.  I have a runny nose, scratchy throat, and a fever now.

So I looked up “How long does it take to get a cold from someone?”

You will typically begin to notice symptoms, such as a runny or stuffed-up nose, coughing or a scratchy throat about two or three days after you become infected with the virus that causes the common cold. Other symptoms of the common coldcan include: sneezing, a fever, headaches, watery eyes and fatigue.

Doctor’s office visit and request for a breast reduction

I took an Uber to the doctor’s office today.   It was for my check up.  I gave them my blood and urine.  The doctor’s office will put the results online.  If he sees a problem he will contact me.
I was going to have him take a growth off my shoulder.  I asked him about the place on top my head.  It has been there for a year.  It does not heal. I wanted to make sure if the he removed the growth on my shoulder that it would heal.

He looked at the place on top my head and said without a delay “CANCER!”  It said it so fast that I was thinking he was joking. Cancer is not funny but I attempted a bit of humor with him.  But he just went on telling me what would have to be done about the place on top my head.  I knew he was not joking.
I made an appointment for a month from now to have him remove the thing on my shoulder and to do a biopsy of the place on top my head.  If the results are cancer he told me what would have to be done.  There is not much skin on top of my head.  So if they have to remove the place I may have to have a skin graft.

Now … I know what you all are thinking from looking at the photo above.
NO I did not ask to have a breast reduction!
I paid a lot of money to get those breasts.

Ready to vote and for this election to come to an end

It is 0445 hours and I am up … I been up for a  bit .. I am ready to vote.
I want this election to end ..  I hope the people of the United States never have to suffer with an election like this one again.

It is 64 degrees and cloudy with some light rain from time to time.  I am in Fort Worth TX and the polls will open at 0700 hours.
We have had  weather like this for a week or more.  No sun or very little and light rain and from time to time heavy rain.  Not sure if this will effect voting or not.

My voting place is the Birchman Baptist Church at 2700 Dale Lane, Fort Worth TX.  It is a 3 minute drive from here.  I do not own a car.  You can take a bus and it is 19 minutes from here.  I walked home from voting one year and it takes 30 minutes.
I will be using Uber to and from voting today.
For those of you that say I should walk for the exercise I thank you for the caring and the advice but I am not sure I could make it.  I have problems walking a few hundred feet to the mailbox.  I also would piss my pants during the walk.  Yes I urinate before I do something.  Even here at home I can urinate and then walk to the kitchen and have to run back to my bathroom again before I can put something in the microwave.
So I will be taking an Uber to and from voting today.

The first President I voted for was John F. Kennedy.  I had to vote by absentee ballot because I was from Missouri but I was going to welding school in Ohio.
Later in life I voted for President Barack Obama. Today I will be voting for the first woman President.

Donald Trump and I have a few things in common.  We are both white men with small hands.  We were both “4-F” He however used student deferments and then being 4-F to stay out of the military.  I however attempted to get into the military a number of times even having bad hearing loss in both ears and being 40 pounds under weight.
We both went to military high schools.  Recently he has said that his high school ROTC training gave him “more training  militarily than a lot of the guys that go into the military.”
I have never said anything like that .. because I am not crazy and a serial liar.

       I will be voting soon.
I wish I was voting for someone else than Hillary Clinton.  I can not, of course, vote for Donald Trump.  If you are voting for Donald Trump I feel very sorry for you. There is something very wrong with you.  Please get help for you condition.

Update:

Early voting in Texas

I was going to do early voting in Texas today.  I am not sure I am going to do it today.  I was thinking that my normal voting place would be the place I would do early voting.  No it is not.  The place I would have to go is 6 miles from here and would take me 12 minutes if there is no traffic.  I do not have a car so I was going to take Uber there and back.
I think I will just wait for election day and vote at the place that I been voting for years.  I took the bus in the past and I even walked home from voting one time.  My heath has changed and I do not think I would be walking home again from voting.
I been up all night .. I had to fill my pill box.  I do that on the 1st of the month.  It takes some time to do.

Oh … I do not get a commission from YouTube if you watch the above video and 3,434 have watched it so far.  The reason I do not get paid is because I put the word “drug” in the tags.
There are, at least, five other videos that Amazon rejects for the same reason.  One of them has 22,751 views – “What is a pill cutter?”

I am thinking about Not Monetizing any of my videos.  That means that you would not see adv on any of my 600 videos.  It means I would not get any commission when people watch my videos.  I get about $30.00 a month now.  But I am just tried of having to deal with the crap from YouTube.

The spinning cat

Rusty is a sweet cat and she loves attention and love.  But she is a pain the butt.  She is under my feet all the time.  She wants to jump up and get on my desk.  In the mornings most of all.
Now she likes to get on the back of my chair.  The first time she did it I decided to go around and around to get her off my chair.  She dug her claws into the chair and even bit the chair to stay on.  But she loves to go around and around.
When Hilary goes back to Sweden I am going to have to feed her and clean the cat litter.  With my  arthritis that hurts.  Rusty is not just a pain in the ass She is a pain in the neck, shoulders and back now.
