I got the lab work on my biopsy. I had a Seborrheic Keratosis removed from left shoulder. It was large. The biopsy was not cancer.
Seborrheic keratosis (seb-o-REE-ik ker-uh-TOE-sis) is one of the most common noncancerous skin growths in older adults.
A seborrheic keratosis usually appears as a brown, black or light tan growth on the face, chest, shoulders or back. The growth has a waxy, scaly, slightly elevated appearance. Seborrheic keratoses don’t become cancerous and aren’t thought to be related to sun exposure, but they can look like skin cancer.
Seborrheic keratoses are normally painless and require no treatment. You may decide to have them removed if they become irritated by clothing or for cosmetic reasons. Mayo Clinic
I also had a lesion on top of my head. A biopsy of it came back as “Basal Cell Carcinoma.”
Basal cell carcinoma is a type of skin cancer. Basal cell carcinoma begins in the basal cells — a type of cell within the skin that produces new skin cells as old ones die off.
Basal cell carcinoma often appears as a slightly transparent bump on the skin, though it can take other forms. Basal cell carcinoma occurs most often on areas of the skin that are exposed to the sun, such as your head and neck.
Most basal cell carcinomas are thought to be caused by long-term exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from sunlight. Avoiding the sun and using sunscreen may help protect against basal cell carcinoma. Mayo Clinic
My doctor is arranging for me to see a surgeon (Dermatologist).
I just heard from my doctor’s office. The lab results are back and the place on top of my head is a Basal cell carcinoma. They are going to get me an appointment with a Dermatology doctor in Fort Worth.
Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States. The two most common types are basal cell cancer and squamous cell cancer. They usually form on the head, face, neck, hands, and arms. Another type of skin cancer, melanoma, is more dangerous but less common.
Anyone can get skin cancer, but it is more common in people who
Spend a lot of time in the sun or have been sunburned
Have light-colored skin, hair, and eyes
Have a family member with skin cancer
Are over age 50
You should have your doctor check any suspicious skin markings and any changes in the way your skin looks. Treatment is more likely to work well when cancer is found early. If not treated, some types of skin cancer cells can spread to other tissues and organs. Treatments include surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, photodynamic therapy (PDT), and biologic therapy. PDT uses a drug and a type of laser light to kill cancer cells. Biologic therapy boosts your body’s own ability to fight cancer. ICD-List Diagnosis Code
I just wait now for the doctor’s office to inform me of my appointment date. I was told that it might be five or six weeks before my appointment.
At last, I got a few hours of sleep. The cold has prevented me from getting any sleep for the last few days. I just got a few hours of sleep and it is 6 AM. Now that I am up .. I think I might be a little better. My nose has been running non-stop for days. Plus I had other problems. I attempted other say of sleeping ..none of them worked. I been up for a few minutes and hope I am on the road to normal.
There are no OTC medications that someone with my medical conditions should take. Hilary did searching on the web and could not find anything for me to take. I could not stand it any longer and asked her to go and get me Contact. She came home with Contac and Coricidin.
On March 1st I went to my doctor to have a biopsy done on a place on top of my head. I also had him remove a large thing on top of my shoulder. I will get the report on the biopsy in 4 or 5 days. The doctor said he is 95% sure it will come back as cancer.
The doctor had symptoms of a cold. I asked if had a cold. He said no. Today I have a cold. I have a runny nose, scratchy throat, and a fever now.
You will typically begin to notice symptoms, such as a runny or stuffed-up nose, coughing or a scratchy throat about two or three days after you become infected with the virus that causes the common cold. Other symptoms of the common coldcan include: sneezing, a fever, headaches, watery eyes and fatigue.
I took an Uber to the doctor’s office today. It was for my check up. I gave them my blood and urine. The doctor’s office will put the results online. If he sees a problem he will contact me.
I was going to have him take a growth off my shoulder. I asked him about the place on top my head. It has been there for a year. It does not heal. I wanted to make sure if the he removed the growth on my shoulder that it would heal.
He looked at the place on top my head and said without a delay “CANCER!” It said it so fast that I was thinking he was joking. Cancer is not funny but I attempted a bit of humor with him. But he just went on telling me what would have to be done about the place on top my head. I knew he was not joking.
I made an appointment for a month from now to have him remove the thing on my shoulder and to do a biopsy of the place on top my head. If the results are cancer he told me what would have to be done. There is not much skin on top of my head. So if they have to remove the place I may have to have a skin graft.
Now … I know what you all are thinking from looking at the photo above. NO I did not ask to have a breast reduction!
I paid a lot of money to get those breasts.
It is 0445 hours and I am up … I been up for a bit .. I am ready to vote. I want this election to end .. I hope the people of the United States never have to suffer with an election like this one again.
It is 64 degrees and cloudy with some light rain from time to time. I am in Fort Worth TX and the polls will open at 0700 hours.
We have had weather like this for a week or more. No sun or very little and light rain and from time to time heavy rain. Not sure if this will effect voting or not.
My voting place is the Birchman Baptist Church at 2700 Dale Lane, Fort Worth TX. It is a 3 minute drive from here. I do not own a car. You can take a bus and it is 19 minutes from here. I walked home from voting one year and it takes 30 minutes.
I will be using Uber to and from voting today.
For those of you that say I should walk for the exercise I thank you for the caring and the advice but I am not sure I could make it. I have problems walking a few hundred feet to the mailbox. I also would piss my pants during the walk. Yes I urinate before I do something. Even here at home I can urinate and then walk to the kitchen and have to run back to my bathroom again before I can put something in the microwave.
So I will be taking an Uber to and from voting today.
The first President I voted for was John F. Kennedy. I had to vote by absentee ballot because I was from Missouri but I was going to welding school in Ohio.
Later in life I voted for President Barack Obama. Today I will be voting for the first woman President.
Donald Trump and I have a few things in common. We are both white men with small hands. We were both “4-F” He however used student deferments and then being 4-F to stay out of the military. I however attempted to get into the military a number of times even having bad hearing loss in both ears and being 40 pounds under weight.
We both went to military high schools. Recently he has said that his high school ROTC training gave him “more training militarily than a lot of the guys that go into the military.”
I have never said anything like that .. because I am not crazy and a serial liar.
I will be voting soon.
I wish I was voting for someone else than Hillary Clinton. I can not, of course, vote for Donald Trump. If you are voting for Donald Trump I feel very sorry for you. There is something very wrong with you. Please get help for you condition.
I was going to do early voting in Texas today. I am not sure I am going to do it today. I was thinking that my normal voting place would be the place I would do early voting. No it is not. The place I would have to go is 6 miles from here and would take me 12 minutes if there is no traffic. I do not have a car so I was going to take Uber there and back. I think I will just wait for election day and vote at the place that I been voting for years. I took the bus in the past and I even walked home from voting one time. My heath has changed and I do not think I would be walking home again from voting.
I been up all night .. I had to fill my pill box. I do that on the 1st of the month. It takes some time to do.
Oh … I do not get a commission from YouTube if you watch the above video and 3,434 have watched it so far. The reason I do not get paid is because I put the word “drug” in the tags.
There are, at least, five other videos that Amazon rejects for the same reason. One of them has 22,751 views – “What is a pill cutter?”
I am thinking about Not Monetizing any of my videos. That means that you would not see adv on any of my 600 videos. It means I would not get any commission when people watch my videos. I get about $30.00 a month now. But I am just tried of having to deal with the crap from YouTube.
Rusty is a sweet cat and she loves attention and love. But she is a pain the butt. She is under my feet all the time. She wants to jump up and get on my desk. In the mornings most of all.
Now she likes to get on the back of my chair. The first time she did it I decided to go around and around to get her off my chair. She dug her claws into the chair and even bit the chair to stay on. But she loves to go around and around.
When Hilary goes back to Sweden I am going to have to feed her and clean the cat litter. With my arthritis that hurts. Rusty is not just a pain in the ass She is a pain in the neck, shoulders and back now.
The last few years I was in Kansas City I got a bad ragweed allergy. Then I was in FL for years. I do not remember having major problems in FL. I been in Texas for years now. I think from time to time I have some minor hay fever problems. My guess is that it is ragweed.
Of course now that I am 75 years of age I do not have to get out and work with the pollen in the air. That is hard when you work outside and have allergy problems.
The last few days I been having some problems I think.
I see, from Pollen.Com, that yesterday the count was high, today it is medium-high and tomorrow will be medium. The top allergens in Fort Worth right now are ragweed, elm and Chenopods.
I feel rotten today. I took the mail to the apartment office to go out. I do not think I could have made it to the mailbox. I was not sure I would make it home from the office. I just feel so weak and faint. I took my blood pressure and it was 135/57 and that 57 is low for me.
I do not like feeling like this.. But at 75 years of age … I guess I am lucky I can feel anything.
I just took a Naproxen for the pain. My back and neck are hurting. I try and not take the Naproxen.
I did get done two Amazon reviews. I have a LOT more of them to get done.
I got two items coming in the mail today to review.
I had a little to eat and some Coke and took my BP and it is now 118/62.
It is time to wake Russ for work. He has been sort of a manager/supervisor at work. They did away with his job. So they told him he could quit and they would give him five weeks of pay and he would get paid for his three weeks of vacation or he could work for 50 cents an hour less. I think he is going to take the pay cut. He will be the receiving dock guy. Not the supervisor but he will be the only one working there. He will get to unload trucks.
About: I got my first computer in 1978. I set up a computer bulletin board system (BBS) in 1982. You had to dial in at 300 baud. A national magazine picked my BBS as one of the ten best sites. I was blogging before the word blog had been invented. People think the first blog was invented in 1995. They are wrong I was doing it in 1982.
When the rest of the world got around to inventing the world wide web I moved my BBS to the web. Yes, I been online for over 32 years.
You have found one of the very first online sites!
I was doing this before Google (1998), before YouTube (2005), Yahoo (1994) and all the rest of them.
You have found one of the fathers of all this that we all enjoy so much.
Welcome and enjoy and hang out with Jim Howard. He has been waiting for you.
One of the first online sites, one of the first blogs and one of the first webcam sites.
